All jewels

The grudge you're still carrying

Resentment feels like doing something — like holding someone accountable, keeping the case open, refusing to let them off the hook.

But the person you resent rarely feels it. They've moved on, or never noticed. The only one carrying it is you, replaying the offence, paying interest on a debt that will never be repaid.

Forgiveness isn't saying it was fine. It's deciding to stop paying for their mistake with your own peace. You don't do it for them. You do it to put the weight down.

Today: name one grudge you're still carrying. Ask what it's costing you to hold it — and whether the other person is paying any of that bill.

One practice for today

Name one resentment you're carrying today and ask honestly what it costs you to keep holding it. Consider setting it down — for your sake, not theirs.

Make it daily — today’s jewel, with a practice fitted to your day.
