We spend an enormous amount of effort trying to change other people — their habits, their opinions, their choices, the way they treat us. We manage, hint, push, and quietly seethe when it doesn't take.
But you cannot install change in another person from the outside. The only behaviour fully in your hands is your own — how you show up, what you'll accept, what you do next. Everything else is influence at best, friction at worst.
Strangely, letting people be who they are often shifts the very thing that pushing never could. You stop wrestling, and the room relaxes.
